Lifelong Goals

In the post Setting Lifelong Goals (AKA The Bucket List) I outlined why I decided to write this list. If you haven’t read that post then I suggest you go back and read it.

The following items are listed in no paticular order. Even though I have not explicitly stated it on each item, I hope that my lovely wife will be along with me on all of these adventures.

  1. Be debt free.
  2. Make at least $50 per day (on average) from MatthewHooper.com for an entire year.
  3. Make at least $200 per day (on average) from passive income for an entire year.
  4. Start a profitable business with at least five employees.
  5. Ride an elephant in it’s natural habitat.
  6. Go on safari in Africa.
  7. Stand next to the Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt.
  8. Stand in the Colosseum in Rome, Italy. Completed May 2004.
  9. Stand on the Great Wall of China.
  10. Visit the Taj Mahal in India.
  11. Become a certified scuba diver.
  12. Visit Machu Picchu, Peru.
  13. Visit Angkor Wat, Cambodia. Completed February 2008.
  14. Drive a luxury sports car worth over $250,000 (i.e. Ferrari, Lamborghini or Bugatti).
  15. Write and publish a book.
  16. Visit Buckingham Palace in England.
  17. Visit one of the top Scotch distillers in Scotland and taste scotch.
  18. Drink a beer at Oktoberfest in Germany.
  19. Visit Rio de Janeiro, Brazil during Carnival.
  20. Scuba dive at the Great Barrier Reef, Australia.
  21. See a penguin in its natural habitat, Antarctica.
  22. See a polar bear in its natural habitat, Arctic.
  23. Leave Earth’s Atmosphere.
  24. Stand in Red Square in Moscow, Russia.
  25. Take a boat down the Nile River, Africa.
  26. Take a boat down the Amazon River, South America.
  27. Ride a motorcycle from the West coast to the East coast of Canada.
  28. Watch the Vancouver Canucks play for the Stanley Cup, in person. (…and hopefully win!).
  29. Carry on a 30 minute conversation with my in-laws in Mandarin, without help.
  30. Bungee jump. Completed July 1997.
  31. Skydive.
  32. Paraglide.
  33. Eat Sushi in Tokyo, Japan.
  34. Eat Kimchi in Seoul, South Korea.
  35. Walk the skywalk at the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  36. Have a son.
  37. Have a daughter.
  38. Run with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.
  39. Visit the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet.
  40. Learn to play 5 recognizable songs on an instrument.
  41. Own real estate. Not mortgaged.
  42. Visit the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.
  43. See a Komodo dragon in its natural habitat. Komodo National Park on the Lesser Sunda Islands, Indonesia.
  44. Fit comfortably into size 34″ jeans.
  45. Eat dinner at the Burj Dubai in Dubai, UAE.
  46. Celebrate Queen’s Day in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
  47. Live on a beach for at least six months.
  48. Run a site that I grew to more than a million visitors in a month.
  49. Not have to go to single place every day for a set number of hours in order to earn a living for more than a year.
  50. Eat black caviar in Russia.
  51. Have a personal chef on call.
  52. Get a pilot license.
  53. Learn to sail.
  54. Spend a month at sea with my wife.
  55. Explore Vatican City. Completed May 2004.
  56. Take my wife skiing in Canada. (I have done this but just not with my wife.)
  57. Stand next to the Berlin Wall in Germany.
  58. Visit the Acropolis in Athens, Greece.
  59. Spend at least a week in the Australian outback.
  60. Drive a vintage car while smoking a cigar in Cuba.
  61. Create three unrelated sources of passive income.
  62. Visit the Mendoza wine county in Argentina.
  63. Learn a martial art.
  64. Provide financial independence to my parents.
  65. Drive a motorcycle around the perimeter of Taiwan.
  66. Go for a hot air ballon ride with my mother and father.
  67. Make at least $10,000 per month from passive income for an entire year.
  68. Visit Mt. Fuji in Japan.
  69. Stay at a Japanese guest house in Hokkaido, Japan.
  70. Ride a Royal Enfield in India.
  71. Drink espresso in the Piazza San Marco, Venice, Italy. Completed May 2004.
  72. See the Philippine Tarsier in its natural habitat in the Philippines.
  73. Eat some Vietnamese Pho in Hanoi, Vietnam.
  74. Visit Shanghai, China.
  75. See the Terracotta Army in Xian, China.
  76. Explore the Forbidden City in Beijing, China.
  77. Visit Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong. Completed March 2005.
  78. Visit a Dutch Windmill in, The Netherlands.
  79. Visit the Great Sphinx in Egypt.
  80. Explore Petra, Jordan.
  81. Ride a camel across the desert, Egypt.
  82. Explore the grounds at Chichen Itza, Mexico. Completed February 1996.
  83. Go for a boat ride on Ha Long Bay, Vietnam.
  84. Go sightseeing at Saint Petersburg, Russia.
  85. Eat Turkish Delight in Istanbul, Turkey.
  86. Visit the ancient city of Troy in Turkey.
  87. Stand on top of Uluru (Ayers Rock), Australia.
  88. Visit the Cologne Cathedral in Cologne, Germany.
  89. Eat a German bratwurst in Germany.
  90. Go sightseeing at the Prague Castle in Prague, Czech Republic.
  91. Eat pierogi in the Ukraine.
  92. Drink wine in the Tuscany region of Italy. Completed May 2004.
  93. Appear on TV. Anywhere.
  94. Visit Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
  95. Drink beer in a pub in Ireland on Saint Patrick’s Day.
  96. Own an electric car.
  97. Own an off-grid house that is LEED certified.
  98. Donate blood.
  99. Visit Bangkok, Thailand. Completed August 2006.

For now, this is my list of 100 items or goals that I want to accomplish in my lifetime. Hopefully before I hit 45!

So is there anything that I should add or delete?
